The traditional Japanese tea ceremony centers on the preparation, serving, and drinking of Matcha as hot tea and embodies a meditative spirituality. Matcha contains a naturally balanced blend of caffeine, antioxidants, chlorophyll, and Theanine (a naturally occurring stress-relieving amino acid). The mellow brew has an earthy, grassy taste.
NOTE: Matcha is a Japanese Green Tea produced using special blending and firing techniques. The leaves are processed and then ground into a fine powder. Our Emerald Grade Matcha uses only the finest, first-harvest, hand-picked tea leaves. The first leaves are picked off the tea plant following the plant's winter hibernation. These leaves have the highest concentrations of chlorophyll (due to the plant hibernating during the winter) and L-theanine (providing a lighter, sweeter taste).
1 teaspoon of tea to 10 oz water. Infuse for 3-5 minutes. For best results use filtered water.
