Cilantro, the leaf of the Coriander plant, has a taste described as a mix of parsley & citrus. The dried herb is used as a flavorful substitute for fresh Cilantro for use with chicken, fish and vegetable dishes.
If substituting dried Cilantro for the fresh leaves, most recipe guides suggest the following rule of thumb: 1 teaspoon dry = 1 tablespoon fresh.
