One herbal guide describes Butcher’s Broom as the herb of choice for “people who stand for lengthy periods of time”. Indeed, the venous tonic supports circulation, particularly to the legs, and supports blood vessel health.
Butcher’s Broom was mentioned in 1st-century reports by none other than Greek physician Dioscorides, and later by the famed 17th-century herbalist, Nicholas Culpepper. Today, it’s a popular ingredient in natural European topical formulas and is often combined with similar herbs such as Witch Hazel bark to make soothing salves and ointments.
Supports circulatory health; supports healthy veins; soothes venous discomfort; promotes proper fluid balance.
Pour 1 cup of boiling water over ½ to 1 teaspoonful of herb. Allow to steep 4-7 minutes, then strain. If desired, add honey and/or lemon to taste.
