White Pond Lily is an aquatic plant found in ponds and streams in eastern North America. It's one of the old-fashioned home remedies" for soothing gastrointestinal distress.
White Pond Lily is described in numerous herbal references as a strong astringent. An astringent herb is often used to tighten and contract tissue, as well as to reduce irritation, secretions and discharges.
Pour 1 cup of boiling water over ½ to 1 teaspoonful of herb. Allow to steep 4-7 minutes, then strain. Drink 1- 2 cups of tea daily. If desired, add honey and/or lemon to taste.
