24. Item Number 608 - Beeswax, White 1 Lb Block
Description:
Beeswax is secreted by the worker honeybees and is used in the construction of honeycomb. This amazing natural substance is used in a wide variety of skin & home care products. Beeswax however, is primarily used in candle and soap making crafts.
For premium quality candles, Beeswax is the preferred ingredient because it lasts longer (burns twice as long as paraffin) and already has a naturally pleasing scent. Beeswax makes great moisturizing lip and body balms as well. Try this easy Almond Oil &
Honey Lip Balm: Melt 8 oz Sweet Almond Oil together with 2 oz beeswax. Remove from heat and add honey. Pour into container and let cool. In other applications, Beeswax makes excellent skin-softening ointments & creams; added to soaps to increase the
hardness; and used to make solid perfumes. NOTE: White Beeswax is made from the yellow variety, but has been refined through a natural bleaching process to achieve the color. It has the same properties and uses as yellow beeswax. It has a very mild aroma.
Common use:
Skin care products (creams, lotions, ointments, salves, lip balms, soaps); solid perfumes; candles.
Suggested Directions:
Beeswax melts at approximately 145 degrees. When melting, it is suggested that a stainless steel or plastic container be used, as aluminum may affect the color. Wax can be melted in a double broiler or sit in a container placed inside a pot of water.

Try this easy Honey/Mint
Lip Balm: Melt together 1 teaspoon of shredded Beeswax, 2 teaspoon Coconut oil and 1/2 teaspoon of Lanolin. Remove from heat and add 1 teaspoon of honey. While mixture is cooling add 2 drops of Peppermint oil. In other applications, Beeswax makes
excellent skin-softening ointments & creams; added to soaps to increase the hardness; and used to make solid perfumes. NOTE: Yellow Beeswax has a slight honey-like aroma. It has the same properties and uses as White Beeswax (refined beeswax).
